It’s very heavy and have a small surface area attached to the wall and all the load is dependent on that area

If they are sticking out a lot i would suggest you did something wrong and the shelf wouldnt hold as much weight as rated

As i stated in the installation review if you put hooks on the edges you can also hang stuff like hair dryers and so on
