Remove the lower pieces and then after inserting the drain into hole in the basin then screw the removed pieces in the same order they were on the fixture

On the pop up drain and the grate drains i noticed that if i used one of those long skinny plastic drain cleaners there was a lot of gunk build up within the pipes and on the popup especially because the popup drain has plastic in the center allowing the popup to be fastened to the rest of the drain meaning the drain was even more narrow than the grate drain

Meaning air would get trapped in the piping between the p trap and the top of the drain making the water drain more slowly

If you have the metal flipper horizontal the water can drain from both sides and their is nothing in the pipe in the center to block the flow of water like their is with the vessel popup drains
