In order to fit my shower arm i had to remove the aerator screen and first rubber gasket below that is another rubber gasket seated in the bottom of the female connector

With the aerator screen attached the shower head was not able to attach completelydeeply enough onto the shower arm male connection and water blasted out everywhere at the connection

Need to make sure you have teflon tape aka plumbers tape the white tape that should cost no more than 35 to wrap clockwise 23 times around the male connector and press the tape into the threads before attaching

At 21 if the lack of screen clogs this up i could replace this every year for the next 12 years and still only pay 12 what i did for the original

It is a rain shower style not a hard flow

I was a bit surprised that it only engaged threads on the last 316 or so of the shower arm but it formed a leak tight seal
