Pros
The charging port has gotten just a little fussy about positioning in the last year. I dread the day this hdx dies as there is no comparable kindle.
This tablet is super fast and all around a monster of a machine. It is a great screen size,lighter than i expected and so portable and smooth running.
Cons
It's june 4 2017 and it no longer works! I know i bought it from amazon and that makes me even madder, because this one stopped working within 6 months of purchase. Other than that, it's ok. It is essentially worthless to me now.

Quality
Its performance and features made it a valuable tool that i used extensively.
This device is still provides spectacular image quality, and wonderful browsing, and app maneuvering speed!
The battery lasts weeks when i keep the wifi turned off.
This is new but had been unused in a box for 5 years until my old kindle fire died.
Price
Sadly i broke the screen the other day, and i just don't see paying $200 for another one.
Bought it when it was on sale for $50.
I was also told they were too expensive to make.
Shipping
Because i received no help from amazon, i was forced to bring it to an independant who said it was not the battery nor the charging port.
It took longer than i expected to arrive but it's working just fine after all the updates it's needed.
Packaging/appearance
Advertised as referb but it was new in retail packaging.
Competitiveness
It's definitely much better than the newest kindle fire tablets that amazon is selling.
The big question are the new fire tablets a match for apple and samsung which appear to have more apps and better tech support.
I have a pixel 4 phone and the performance of the kindle fire hdx compared to my phone is just substantial.
I think probably worth it but at the same time, i think i am going to wait for newer generation to go on sale from other vendor... Read More

The battery life was never great though it did stay about the same capacity for the 8ish years i had it
