These are very well made and it is a solid nice pad with straps to attach it to your mattress.
I had a memory foam mattress topper and that one heated up like crazy and with the warmer summer month, no thanks.
This mattress pad is thick and not very pliable but it is comfortable, does not bunch up and it is exceptionally cooling.

I believe this product is designed to be slept on directly but i have a cotton fitted sheet over it since it can only be handwashed
