I agree that there are s and s to the new visual design of the game but it is really a matter of opinion

It is not the cartoony style of the previous version but this version does alot of good things for the iconography and cleanliness of the board

There is no reason to buy the previous edition over this edition i would even recommend buying this edition even if you only own the base game for the previous edition especially because of the priceavailability of the expansion

You know when they take the time and effort to reprint a 10 year old game it has to be something people asked for

These are mostly in the building department the game aids players who fall behind helping keep better players from shooting to far ahead the components are well made and the standard d6s are beautiful there are a lot of different strategies to wincons the board is unattractive as other reviewers have said the battle is random which can be frustrating if you are trying to optimize the theme of the game is not very strong
