Easy and cheap upgrade for steam deck. No lockups and better speed than the original drive. Go base model and upgrade.

This is great, it was installed into a base 64 gb steam deck.
So far working great, faster than the stock drive in benchmarks, but don’t know if that translates in actual game performance.
I tried 4 enclosures and it keeps disconnecting snd i barely got it to format to ntfs after 10 hours!
No hassles and even came with the drive screw (which i lost removing the original drive).
Price
This 512gb ssd for under $50 was a great option and installing it took like 5 minutes (plus reinstalling steamos).

Competitiveness
With this, i think the 64gb is by far the best model to purchase.
Kingston is one of the known brand for storage, price is reasonable that is why i pick this over some other (known) brand.

Had to open the heat shield up and rewrap around this drive as it is a little thicker than the 64gb stock drive
