According to a number of web sites this model cannot take more than 8gb ram or ram at speeds greater than 1333mhz

Just a heads up to anyone who is looking to upgrade the ram on this model you just need to remove the cover on the top of this unit as well as the one on the side which is the user replaceable side turn it on its side i would recommend doing this on a towel so that the side that is open with the user replaceable ram is now on the towel

Insert the new ram dimm in the internal slot turn it back on its normal position replace the other dimm on the user replaceable side and you are done you now have 16gb of ram available for synology applications
