Go with lithium cells, or nimh rechargeables. About 40% of the batteries leak. It is unacceptable to have an unused battery leak.
Costco should recall all these batteries because to leave them in unknowing consumers hands will cost consumers millions of dollars in damaged battery operated devices. It is reckless and unconscionable on costco's part.

I recall just one battery failing due to leakage and i noticed this yesterday in a wireless mouse that had not been used for about a year or so the batteries one of two leaked were dated 2014 which i believe would make them from ca

The mouse was not damaged but if it had been it would have been my fault as i know very well to remove and label any primary cell batteries from devices that will lie about unused for any significant time

I will be switching to sanyo eneloops for the flash units and handheld gps but sticking with kirklands for everything else
