) i use the wire coffee filter that came with the pot and i've never used paper filters with this pot, so i can't comment on that.

I got this as a gift and was not pleased with the fact that when you fill it to 12 cups it runs over.

I do know that the instructions said not to use a paper filter with the filter that came with the pot.
