Pros & Cons
Pros
I love the added little sleek look to the handle, it's like modern cast iron! It seems a little overpriced to some, but this will be the last one i buy. I think if they knock the price down a bit it will be a better value. It is definitely durable and... Read More
This kitchenaid dutch oven is very heavy duty and high quality. It can be used for oven and stove. It has performed amazingly.
This pan is heavier than all of my other cast iron pans, even one that is 2 quarts larger. It is very durable and can be stored easily.
Kitchenaid 48395 seasoned cast iron frying pan/skillet, 12 inch - black. The 6 qt. Skillet is a great, heavy duty cast iron skillet. If you know how to use cast iron, this one from kitchen aid comes very close to the quality of lodge.
The size is good, and i like the styling. The ad copy says it's safe to use on all cooktops. I think they mean that the pan won't be harmed by various cook tops.
Cons
Not a heck of a lot. Forget about proper silicone holders.

The casting on the bottom is very rough to the point that it would scratch a glass top stove or induction and im not referring to someone sliding it from one burner to the other but rather those little movements that we do while cooking when you grab the handle and reposition the pan to get a utensil under something or to add ingredients
