Pros & Cons
Pros
This is an upscale coffee maker that makes a heavenly cup of coffee. It produces a delightful pot of coffee that beats traditional coffee-maker brew.
The filter holder inside has a minor issue with there being no directions as to how to put it back in the basket. The water'slot' is a little awkward to use but there is a tiny moat around it suggesting that they knew the user might spill some. This g... Read More
The coffee maker is quiet only making a little hissing sound during the water preheat. It allows you to choose how many cups of coffee it will brew, and has a programable timer. The only down side to all the electronics is that it beeps at the beginni... Read More
Kitchenaid kcm0802 makes good coffee that's definitely more flavorful than your standard drip coffee maker. I grind beans in a burr grinder, and this pot makes excellent, smooth coffee.
I like coffee strong and black, with no sweetener. Yes, it gives you some dang delicious coffee if done correctly. Makes great tasting coffee, but it has a few flaws.
Highlights
Quality
Very durable-we had gone through a coffee maker ever year for 10 years.
Consistently heats the water to optimal temperature and precisely controls the drip process.
The black paint coating at the heated base all bubbles up and flakes away after months of use.
Mine started leaking after 2 years and 2 months.
Price
Price wise and value (if /when it dies) i will buy again.
Would recommend to any one worth every penny.
I decided it would be cheaper to make my own good brew instead of going to startbucks and paying 4-5 dollars each time.
However, i had purchased a 4 yr warranty for $16.
Shipping
Delay start is a game changer for early mornings.
Competitiveness
Excellent brew, better than moccamaster, at ~half the price.
But a little slow compared to a drip maker.
Also note that other kitchenaid brewers which look the same are not the same and do not have scaa endorsement.
