A notch on the plastic lid of my older machine had broken and the lid would not stay in place for the machine to operate properly

I have a kitchen aid chefs chopper and it worked wonderfully until this morning when it stopped working ive been pushing the button ive been turning the container that contains the food all kinds of ways to see maybe if i had it on the wrong way and then keep pushing the button and it doesnt works now its garbage i used for my baby food to make my son baby food that was 10 years ago so ive had it for 10 yearsand i used it in january and i dont know what happened from january till today it just will not work now

I usually swish mine in hot soapy water and clean with a toothbrush to avoid handling the blades then let it dry inside of the cup of the machine to avoid having anyone else brush against it while it is drying

Posts regarding broke on the first run i use mine all of the time and never had a minute of trouble out of it
