Pros

One slot is for adding things to the mixing bowl. The shield next to the mixer head fits great so your ingredients don't go everywhere when you start the mixer up. Great product by kitchenaid.

Bought used for 20. Better then 25. Luv it. It's worth the investment. You won't be disappointed.

Cons

One shield end tab always springs back, causing the shield to shift and sit unsecured on the rim. Dusty ingredients like flour, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar still manage to get everywhere no matter how slowly i start off. Product description false... Read More

Packaging/appearance

Previously, i used cut up paper plates to keep the buttermilk from flying out of the mixing bowl.

Other than that it certainly keeps the dry mixtures from flying out of the mixing bowl.

It looks like i just took it out of the package.

It keeps the flour from flying out of the mixer and onto my counter tops and floor.

Competitiveness

These are a little overpriced but i suppose we pay for the kitchenaid brand.

That's why i paid more for this shield because i don't have to do this as a retired executive chef!
