Pros & Cons
Pros
Kitchenaid is the best way to knead dough. It kneads double batches of bread dough and stirs nuts and other add-ins to heavy cookie dough easily. The old oster kitchen center still does fine at grinding meat.
The mixer has a bit more horsepower and torque than the artisan and it shows. I want to say upfront it is louder than the 6 qt pro kitchen aide mixer. The build quality is just as good as the early kitchenaid machines.
Some recipes need the 7 quart bowl. It fits nicely on my counter top. Wanted to upgrade from my current tilt head kitchenaid to be able to make double recipes.
The color of sugar pearl is just beautiful. The pearl color is stunning. Frosted pearl color is so pretty.
Cons
Whirlpool refuses to do anything about the case despite of 2 year full warranty because i don't have the receipt (which i probably threw out when it faded) and please keep your receipt. Buyer call directly to company to verify before buying from 3rd p... Read More
After the first use the gear box was making a clicking noise. Another problem is the awkwardness of attaching and removing the beater. The machine is prone to break due to misaligned gears.
Highlights
Quality
Coincidentally, the size and color scheme blend perfectly with the ka.
Highest quality u can buy, you will be able to hand this down to your children's children
The handles and attachments are also much better quality.
My older kitchenaid mixer had difficulty with the thick, heavy dough and would get quite warm.
Shipping
It’s a pain when the actual shipping company shows up earlier than projected and it’s an item that has to be signed for.

It is a wonderful machine and has replaced all of the handwork of mixing and kneading the dough.
Only oddity: the new splash guard that came in the brand-new box didn't fit.
Competitiveness
I let the smoke out of my previous kitchenaid mixer and it was beyond the return period offered for a refurb.
I bought it to replace my 22 year old, 6qt kitchen aid mixer.
While it is assembled in the usa, i wish the whole thing was made in the usa.
