Pros & Cons
Pros
Tea towel keeps blood from running back into mixer. Works great for jams and jellies. Couldn't be easier.
Grinder works great with whole boneless chicken that i use to make my dogs food every week. Planning to try to use it for gnocchi as well, less work on the mash. I have high histamine issues (bad allergies) and haven't had a turkey burger in a long ti... Read More
Cons
If you’re into meat grinding, those aren’t coarse or fine. The model ksmfga is not recognized by the amazon link to the kitchenaid website for complaints. I like kitchenaid appliances, but this one was frustrating.
The product is out of warranty because it has been more than one year since purchase. Appalling service from a supposedly premium manufacturer. Number is waste of time, online chat is no good.

Clean the parts, dry thoroughly, and i like to wipe down the metal parts with a little food grade mineral oil to keep them from rusting.
Gotta put the meat and the grinder in the freezer for 20/30 minutes and make sure all the silver skin is off because otherwise ... Read More
Get everything connected to the mixer and little by little feed the cold meat through on speed 4 into a metal bowl.
Price
It’s much more cost efficient to buy pieces of meat and grind them up!
Cheaper than the stainless steel and for me works exactly the same.
This grinder paid for itself after a month.
Typically (here in ohio) ground chicken is $5-$6 a pound but chicken breasts are $2 a pound.
