Pros & Cons
Pros
This beater has a rubbery coating & is dishwasher safe. Comes with a little scraper to clean the slots.
Kitchenaid pastry beater. Works as advertised and it does a good job, though i still like doing this task better by hand as i get finer control. No more manually cutting.
This beater works great for cutting fat into flour for doughs of all kinds. A tip i learned a while ago is to freeze your sticks of butter and then grate the frozen butter with a box cheese grater.
Cons
The description indicates this is for kitchenaid bowl-lift stand mixers. This product is not compatible with model k5ss. This one is to wide for the mixing bowl.
Highlights
Quality
With zero manual labor, my all-butter crust dough was ready to add water and finish in under a minute.
I make several dozen pies each year and even give pie-making lessons.
The smaller even gaps are good for the main purpose of blending in butter chunks.
You just have to be careful and stop mixing when there are still visible pieces of butter to keep your baked goods flaky.
Price
A little pricy but high quality and is a yet another nice addition to the mixer.
Shipping
So much faster than using a pastry cutter by hand.
