Pros & Cons
Pros
This little gadget is fantastic. Using the initial roller was a pleasure. Changing from the roller to the fettuccine cutter was similarly quite easy.
The trick is to keep kneading your pasta until it no longer sticks to your hands. A little patience and some hot water helps.
Using semola flour with the roller and cutters almost eliminates cleanup. Semolina and water makes a great tasting noodle. The machine allows you to make exceptionally long noodles if you want to deal with supporting them through the cutting and extru... Read More
Cons
The dough extrudes soooooooo slowly that you need to start the production at o'dark thirty to have enough ready for dinner. Feeding small balls of pasta dough into the hopper and slow extruding speeds make this method of pasta making take forever. Jus... Read More
Problems range from little or no extrusion at all to macaroni sealed off by the cutting wire. Fusilli suffer the same thick gobs problem while also sporting unimpressive looking spirals.
The attachments have been severely downgraded in materials and thus quality, yet have kept the ka pricetag. Kitchen aid states the equipment was mfg in 2010? Why is amazon selling 9 year old equipment! It was broke in 2 month.

Praise the lord, i am very pleased with the homemade pasta.
It is very heavy stainless steel and works perfectly with the kitchenaid mixer.
Last night i even used the dough hook and kneaded the pasta dough with the mixer, no hand work at all.
Using semola flour with the roller and cutters almost eliminates cleanup.
Price
Great products - just wish they didn't cost so much.
Packaging/appearance
Definitely a learning curve for mixing the dough to the right consistency, but well worth it!

Biggest hint from me work one piece of dough at a time flattening it then changing the head to the cutting head and processing those noodles ideally into a bowl with corn starch that youll kind of toss them to coat so they dont stick to one another

The amount lost is not massive you end up with about an 1 1 14 ball trapped inside the press near the installed plate
