After trying many mandolines we happened upon kitchenaid

This is in the same price point as one of the oxo mandolines but that has pretty poor reviews so i opted for this one

The clear plastic part is also pointed to hold the food so you can actually slice any size item

The only downfall that ive encountered was that i have to cut everything down to fit in the holder to slice
