Pros & Cons
Pros
This can opener is flawless. The largeness of this can opener makes it feel very comfortable in the hand.
Top quality and hand-turns easily like a corvette! Good amount of leverage so not much muscle needed. When i'm opening a can of tuna and hanging it over a sink of dishes, i don't worry one iota that the can and all the tuna slop is going to slip out a... Read More
Cons
Leaves uncut gaps in the lid -shreds the paper off the can and makes a mess on the counter. Hard to start, jumps off the rim of the can easily, and doesn't cut the lid all the way around.
Total junk. Don't waist your money on it.
Like many other reviewers, i have been sorely disappointed in my kitchenaid can opener. Top half of the opener has the top edge folded over about an inch. The folded over top edge on my opener was not folded down tightly enough.
It is shameful that the brand reputation of kitchenaid would be compromised by placing it on this poorly made product.
Highlights
Quality
So easy to use and very sturdy!
Sturdy and dependable are the two words i would use to describe this can opener.
The gear teeth didn't match up correctly, making it nearly impossible to turn when clamped on a can.
My guess is the stamped metal blanks are simply put together and the edges are never buffed.
Price
The one she bought was not cheap in price, but terrible to use.
This can opener is worth its price.
The reviews for this can opener impressed me, but [the price] seemed like a lot for a manual can opener.
Packaging/appearance
We bought a packaged set of kitchenaid utensils, and this was one of the pieces.
Competitiveness
There are other models made by kitchenaid, so i am only rating the one pictured.
The lower reviews this opener received, i would bet, are likely for a different kitchenaid model.
I then reordered another one of these kitchenaid branded ones reviewed here.
I just didn't know it until i had to use other brands.
