This is a high quality appliance as one would expect from a kitechenaid.
I have made several recipes of sausages with the grinder attachment and this machine will grind up meat in nothing flat.

Packaging/appearance
The only way you could tell it was a refurb was that it was clearly stated on the box.
Also the packaging was spot on, in a brand new carton with brand new packing materials.
Was somewhat concerned to buy a refurbished mixer but it's like brand new!
