I used to use these plates before i bought the actual pasta press - anyway, this worked fine, that's why i gave 5 stars - i still have the plates, and use it from time to time - they are easy to clean, but not as easy to use, it's just a matter of time before you get used to and learn how to handle with it -if you're not in the budget of the pasta press which can be expensive, and you already own a kitchenaid grinder, buy these plates, you won't regret it, but as said, don't get scared, it takes some time before you really understand how to use it properly and so make excellent pasta!  Read Less
