The only downside i can see is once installed getting the google mini out of the device is somewhat difficult

It makes the google home mini portable which it always should have been and i can use it to control music lighting and everything else from the spa or barbecue area or anywhere around the house that is in range of the wifi

However i havent tried using the battery to its full extent or outside of its set wifi range so cant say how it will work away from home
