It's not the thickest plastic, and the battery spring pushing them tightly against the tool fell out with it.

Competitiveness
I felt and heard and saw no difference between this and any of my friends brands and my previous brand tester.
So if you want to save money, either buy it used or buy another brand.
Can't compare this to any others however it's worked perfectly so far at detecting line voltage both at high and low levels.
I think it is no step above all the others, it's just a different color and name.

Leaving aside the fact that multimeters are just plain better if you only had to buy one electrical measurement tool this is probably the best noncontact voltage sensor on the market

The problem i had with mine was that the flat 34butt34 part of the screw on battery cap broke off somehow

I never dropped it or banged it against anything just seem to snap off rather easily which wasnt good
