Pros & Cons
Pros
The clarity is overwhelming. Not that it's resounding or deep, but that it is exceptionally accurate. Have a great system and be amazed.
The heresys sound awesome and are plenty loud in my 11+ x 12+ x 9 ft home office. They use a direct radiator woofer, as opposed to a ported design. Run them with a subwoofer for the best results. Make sure you have a clean amp.
Berliner philharmoniker speakers have exceptional bass. Clear, articulate and tuneful bass. Direct radiated bass provides tightness that other speakers cannot match.
Highlights
Quality
With classical and jazz, it always seems that i'm satisfied with the volume.
Very happy with the clarity of instruments listening to classic rock.

Build quality is outstanding, and they don't dominate the room if positioned a foot or so forward of the back wall near corners.
Price
They're large floor speakers, but beautiful, and the room filling sound is oh so worth the price.
The then $1700/pr price kept them as a list item, however remote.
If you really want to kick it up and match component price to speaker price, i'd go for a rogue audio cronus or sphinx.
Packaging/appearance
In this 20x20 i do not feel a need for a sub woofer because they have plenty of bass however when i move these into the 30x30 r... Read More
I do really love these speakers, but i want to get a couple of complaints out of the way.
Competitiveness
I have these setup in a 20x20 room.
I've had advents, jbls, electro voice, altec, and several other lesser brands.
I've owned nht, psb, b&w, vandersteen and heard $100k systems.
This combined with a klipsch subwoofer and a velodyne sub which are driven by a pioneer vsx1021 reciever.

This provides that tightness that other speakers cannot match however since they are directly radiated they have no acoustic bass amplification read distortion

They are meant for you to actually use your tone controls to dial in the bass curve much like focusing a camera lens
