Pros
It takes a few seconds for the sub to wake up out of standby mode. The sub feels hefty and sturdy, i can see it lasing me many years.
R-100sw is a replacement for previous yamaha 8. This subwoofer is stationed between the right bookshelf speaker and the tv. Digital amps are quite efficient sitting idle as it is.
Good bass isn't just about the boom, but the detail and clarity of the bass. Good subwoofers know not just how and when to thump, but also how much and when not to. The bottom end has what l can best described to have a warm rounded sound.
The r-100sw is a real performer with clarity. It fades into the background but it speaks up when it has something to say. Imho, i believe klipsch makes quality stuff.
Volume control takes some tinkering to get right to my ears. Position of unit in listening area is something to tweak. Odyssey multi eq on the avr does audio calibration on all the speakers.
