I like the heft of it, it feels so sturdy and honestly the weight makes me think quality as the knives i've thrown away are light and cheap and dull fast. The knife is balanced and sturdy. It fits my slightly ham sized hands well.

The handle is exceptionally comfortable, and the sharp blade is durable enough to last long. The handle scales match and well integrated with the tang, bolster and pin. An extended tang means the tang extends past the end of the handle.

Haven't used it a ton yet but picked up the whole set from the same brand. There are a lot of knives out there in this price range, but this unit is worthy of consideration.

The damascus pattern looks laser etched to me. It's etched to look like it. The etching on this blade is very cool - an ooooh!

Cons

The knife is okay and probably cuts fine for a while, but the image and description leads a buyer to believe the knife is of a higher quality than it actually is. It’s not thick steel and will probably wear out soon.
