If there is any kind of light near it it will not go on

This means if you mount it under a kitchen cabinet and there is other lights on in the room or the next roomit wont turn on

If you mount it near a window and there is street lighting security lighting outdoor lightingit wont turn on

If you mount it in a hall closet and the light is on in the hallway when you open the closet doorit wont go on

I stuck this light on the ceiling above the stairs so that i can go down in the early morning without turning on the lights it give ample of light to see where i am going and because of the light sensor built in it only comes on when it is dark

Put it the batteries pull off the peel and stick tape and stuck it to the ceiling

Works really well too bad it doesnt sense motion through glass
