When you select auto mode the green light indicates best air quality yellow light indicates good air quality and red indicates bad air quality

I got the unit because i have been have been experiencing considerable congestion at night while using my cpap machine

One minor note that other reviewers evidently did not experience is a slight clickinggrating noise in the fan motor that sounds a bit like a bearing or bushing problem of some type
