Pros
The nice thing is you can get a quick overview without getting bogged down in a lot of details. Concise, objective and insightful. Didnt seem to be opinionated, no political axe to grind.
If you are a war buff, or simply want to understand just what happened there, this is a good summation. Provides a good start to understanding the key milestones of the war.
Cons

I am quite impressed with the facts lodged in this short history.
North korea invaded with the purpose of making korea whole again.
There were some minor issues that i had with the book.

I was an 8yr old child in june 1950 in nyc.
The korean war shoukd be classified as a civil war.

First of all i have always read it was sygnman rhee not rhee sygnman and i could be wrong on that
