Embed the steel wool in the foam, and smooth the top with the foam. The guy has to be shaken a few times to let the chemicals mix up. Once it's dried, it's easy to trim.

Packaging/appearance
I was surprised when i opened this can of foam sealant.
It's important to note that the package does not include the application gun, so you'll need to have one or acquire it separately.
Competitiveness
So, in terms of performance, i found this foam sealant to work just as effectively as some of the more well-known brands like great stuff.
It works as well as top brands i have used, and stays viable once inserted in my foam gun for a month without any clogging.
I don't like that these companies sell "low expansion" foam because any and all tests done show its all the same foam.
This will match up with the cheapo foam applicators here on amazon.

It doesn’t store as gracefully as i would have liked it too and the when i returned a few days later it had hardened and had to be tossed

It needs to be sealed in a ziploc pouch to be fully dry so it doesn’t dry up
