Pros
Plastic strainer/drain unit is the color that i needed. Previous drain * was aluminum painted black which flaked off after a years use. Heavy duty, durable and good looking disposal *.
Cons
Over-tensioning further reduces any margin to failure. Also bizarre is the way it installs.
Has also stained and discolored. What * about white plastic is it stains easily. It’s as bad or worse than the other cheaper drains that peel.
No matter how many times i crank on this thing, it never is tight. It is not clear if any type of sealant is intended to be used with the * gaskets. Rubber breaks down as it ages, so without the use of any sealant, theflange will eventually start leak... Read More

There is however a gap between the top above the sink and the bottom below the sink which could retain debris that could be unhealthy

Had similar one before and it captured food debris in that location so hope this one is better
