Pros

I have been using it regularly for the past couple of months and i don't see any rusting on the bottom heating plate. It quickly heats up water with the touch of a button. Preset temperatures are practical.

Krups has a two year warranty and you can send it in for repairs. I like that the company sells parts and focuses on repairable appliances. It performs it's job well, and it exactly what i was hoping for.

This is a solid kettle that feels very well made. Sediment isn't really an issue for me personally as i use a kettle-dedicated brita pitcher.

Cons

When it reaches 212° the temp immediately starts dropping down to 200° even though it's set to hold the temp for 30 minutes. The seam between the stainless-steel spout and the stainless-steel liner leaks. There's no minimum fill line. The kettle is no... Read More

The quality control is just dreadful. It just shows poor quality control oversight on the part of krups. But i assume now quality would be pretty bad here in the united states, since we no longer have manufacturing expertise.

Price

I feel that the price is reasonable for the product i received.

Temperature - there was a 5-degree difference between 3 thermometers which is think is close enough for the price.

Competitiveness

I previously had another brand of electric kettle that took a little longer to boil the water so it's a plus that this one is faster.

I just replaced the cuisinart with this one for much less money and like it so far.

I've gone through a couple of the cheaper ones and there's no comparison.

My comparison will be to the single serve coffee machine (i will call sscm) i have been using that is very popular.
