Pros

Krups maker uses a rocker switch that will be compatible with any manual or digital timer. The coffee from this machine is the best tasting that we've ever had from any home coffee maker. My only complaint is the length of tome the warmer stays on.

What a funky coffee maker. I owned one prior to when they discontinued the model. Still, coffee makers and a microwave are things that remain.

Cleaning the lid by unscrewing the strainer from the top is really important to know. Close to a vac pot brew with easier cleanup.

Do not hesitate to buy. You won't be disappointed. All three of them are excellent.

The moka brewer uses a mesh permanent filter which initially i thought was a plus. Using a paper filter (3 3/4 diameter) clears things up and improves the flavor immensely. It does produce less sediment.

The quality and build of this machine is excellent.

Pros, the water is hot, properly boiled before it hits the grinds.

A few months back, the top element, which is supposed to come apart for cleaning, came apart for good when a solder apparently failed.

Price

So very happy that i took the chance and ended up with the same item for $75 less than a perfectly new item.

At this unit's price point, i'm not sure if i would have purchased this coffee maker given the issues listed.

A bit pricey, but worth it to us!

I gave it 5 stars because it brews great coffee, but i give it 1 star for the price

Hint: when the unit first arrives, the cord looks short.

Competitiveness

The coffee itself is great and compared to my other coffee maker, uses less coffee.

It took no time to become used to this wonderful new machine because it may even be better than my much loved cuisinart.

I've found that the amount of coffee which i use is less than necessary for other coffee brewing methods.

The older model had better construction than the new one -- it was made in france, whereas this one is made in china.
