Pros

This replaces the acurite rain gauge that i have had a lot of problems with. Works great, easy installation. Other than that it works well.

If you mount it on the wall, you need to remove it to select the different rain amounts by time period. There is one feature i would have loved to see, and that's a push button light for the lcd. It is shows today/24 hours/week/month/year totals.

Signal has to go through two concrete block walls and on interior wall and its still 5 bars. Transmission range to the indoor display is a generous 250 to 300 feet. It is lower in cost compared to the most of the competition.

This is my second la crosse rain guage and it didn't last 6 months. The sensor reception indicator shows the sensor to receiver connection is good, at least for awhile, but it does not register actual rainfall. Next rain there was zero rain showing on... Read More

Battery case connector problem and the reed relay was broken. The problem is, on this unit, there are no screws under the tilting rocker!

Had a problem with the outdoor sensor and the company shipped me a replacement immediately.

Competitiveness

Out with the junk and in with a different brand.

It was very inexpensive but the quality of the measurement mechanism is far better than the mechanism in the other two brands i purchased.

Part of the reason i bought this was the other brands failed over a short time to measure rain accurately.
