Pros
Temperature sending unit is located in a woodpile in shade. Receiver is in the house. It still works great.

We put lithium batteries (that better withstand the cold) in the outdoor sensor. In canada even us old timers use celsius now. There is only one caveat that is it's not mentioned how to reset the min/max temp recording period.
Cons
The outdoor sensor is only 5 feet away from the main unit and it keeps disconnecting. The only way to get metric readings is to set the clock to 24 hour format. Readings in fahrenheit available only with a 12hr clock.
Shipping it back to get a replacement is cost prohibitive and exceeds the cost of the unit. Having given them out as gifts would pose a problem. Push and hold the min max button for 3 seconds - nope.
Not good for canada. Not a favourable option. Very disappointing. Totally useless for this reason.

Dont like that you have to have it in 24 hr

However in order to display temperatures in celsius you can only use the 24 hour time display mode

If using celsius rather than fahrenheit must use 24hour clock rather than 12hour which would be preferred
