Mechanical grenades are probably the safest form of airsoft grenade. The plug still locks into place without any movement so it's a quality design.
Cons
Bbs do not hit very hard even if you are a foot away. Easily broken, does not throw hard.

Unfortunately due to the low noise many fields wont allow them because they cause fights about whether or not they were hit with the grenade
