It does take some effort to depress or elevate it, but i thought it is overall reasonably priced at $35.

You get the box enclosed with the stand and some protective foam and that is it.
Competitiveness
The orlian laptop stand offers sleek, adjustable support for laptops but i think it works much better for tablets.

Like everything about this stand except thet the holders at the bottom are not big enough to hold my old laptop

I had to put velcro on the back of the laptop to keep it from sliding off

However just leaving it there leaves the chance for the laptop to fall off
