Pros & Cons
Pros
Supreme beauty and craftsmanship. Water pours out hot and stays hot in the tea cup. It is enamel and can chip.
Cons
Don't fall for the brand hype, this is junk and the company won't respond to my requests for support. Clearly returning (buying chantal fyi). It is not usable. Considering just putting it in the garbage.
This kettle is such a disappointment. And so continues the cycle of tea time discouragement. The most annoying thing about the kettle is that handle is not thermally insulated.
The whistle is insufficient. The spout does not open automatically to pour water, it dribbles out. Every time you pour into a cup, it boils and sputters as you pour, making a mess.
Highlights
Quality
Love the color, love the handle, very well made.
An excellent product that exemplifies le creuset’s enduring quality.
Unfortunately, the kettle whistle mechanism broke off in less than a year of moderate use.
The cover lid is extremely difficult to remove and even more so to replace.
Price
It may be pricey, but this kettle works like a champ, maintains heat well after being taken off a burner, and looks great to boot.
Given how long we've had our other pieces, we figured the additional cost was worth the investment.
This kettle is more expensive than the average stainless steel kettle but it is worth it.
