Pros & Cons
Pros
The only down side to this kettle is that it will melt to you stove when your husband (me) turns on the wrong burner when he is trying to make noodles. The spout cover has a long enough push lever so you can flip it up without getting your hand steame... Read More
The only detectable differences between the two are the hinge where the handle connects front/rear to the kettle. Other than the lid, very nice teapot.
Cons
It looks really nice but stay away. The enamel finish is also kind of weird and sticky. It rusts inside rusts and outside.
Less than 1 year into owning it developed a sizeable rusted area on the bottom edge. Replacement kettle has a defect in the bottom that has been poorly patched. Not true, the whistle is very faint. Not this teapot.
It works okay on our induction cooktop, but takes forever for water to boil, unless i engage the power boost function of our cooktop. This results in water spurting out of the spout rather than steam. When you pour the hot kettle it literally sputters... Read More
The customer service is terrible. Paying for brand only, not functionality.

It is less perfect for a larger household as it does not boil more than a quart at a time and if that is your situation you would need the larger sized le creuset tea kettle

My only other concern since i live where there is very hard water is to try and avoid the kettle ending up with hard water deposits lining the inside of the kettle or worse still letting the steam or water boil out of the spout or top and leaving the hard white residue all over the outside of the kettle
