Pros

Cons

It is impossible to cook anything in either of them without it sticking to the bottom and blackening quickly. The pot has patches of areas that are dull. The pans cook bacon well but forget about eggs.

I suspect my first skillet might have been a factory second because ive never received a piece directly from le creuset with such a noticeable flaw

Some tiny pinholes are normal for enameled cast iron but this one seemed a bit big to pass normal inspection—and being on a part of the skillet that would be in direct contact with the heat source concerned me

The surface diameter cooking area is about 8–8½ inches in the 10¼inch 26cm skillet

If i preheat the skillet on 3 or 4 for 10 minutes or so i often have to drop the setting to 2 if im cooking for an extended period

All stovetops vary but the point is that these skillets will get ripping hot—and hold that heat—without ever needing to crank up your heat source
