Honey sticks nicely to the grooves. I actually use it with a non-le cruset honey jar but it matches perfectly. Love the simplicity in design.

Id never used a honey dipper before figuring that they would drip even worse than a spoon but out of desperation i ordered two this one and the rsvp endurance silicone honey dipper

Thats neither bad nor good its just a matter of preference as to how much honey you want from a single dip
