Pros & Cons
Cons
Huge disappointment. No quality control at redd egg. Cup broken right off saucer. Rim chipped upon arrival.
Even if i change the water daily it molds inside and out. It works better to just not add the water which defeats the purpose. Then refrigerate it.
Since my butter comes in a fat rectangular shape, you have to soften the butter just to get it into the container. Mine is defective, my lid isn't level with the base no matter which way i turn it.
Highlights
Quality
I like that it is very sturdy when i flip it over and set it on the table for serving also.
Works exactly as expected and feels like it will be something that would last a lifetime.
No clean up and you can easily squish the air out.
Do no use chilled water or warm water as this could cause the butter to fall out of the cup when inverted into the crock.
Shipping
It was well packaged and arrived quickly.
Addendum: the replacement arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
I got lazy one time and emptied the water and refilled the butter and didn't refill the water.
After i reported the damage amazon promptly sent me a replacement.
Packaging/appearance
Very nicely packaged and arrived no damaged.
Beautiful and functional gift for my family
That coupled with poor packaging from amazon is leading to many of these butter keepers being damaged during shipping.
While the crock looks lovely, it arrived with the top broken into two parts, so a real review is not possible.
