Pros

Sinek argues that leaders who prioritize the well-being of their employees can create an environment that stimulates the production of oxytocin, leading to a culture of trust and cooperation. He revisits the tenets of servant leadership coined by rich...  Read More

Each time i reread this book, i gain something else or perceive a message in a different way. He also gives what i believe is a balanced view on millennials & generation z's.

Purpose and values are crucial in inspiring and guiding the team. Transparency and open communication are essential for building and maintaining trust.

Cons

It's a touchy feely book that only really works if you're in a well-oiled machine. Most books of this ilk these days are just entertainment masquerading as educational.

Here's this entire book in a nutshell. This book is interesting at times, but is so lazy in style that it lacks any buildup to an overarching point.

The book is a rehash of all the typical stereotypes of the millennial generation. Simon is crammed with disorganized anecdotes.

The organization-as-family concept he espouses feels horribly outdated and problematic. As opposed to equitable pay and good leadership. He blindly asserts a lot of assumptions that seem to stem from his educated, white, male privileged background.

Sinek’s work is problematic because the very leadership principles he outlines are intrinsically feminine qualities.

The "scarcity mindset" and how it undermines trust and destroys organizations.

Great info, but its tough/ dry to get through all of it

The concept is proven in the marine corps and would be so useful in the business world if executed by more c-level executives.

My problem with this book is that the author spends a little more time on politics than is really necessary

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

At one point he essentially blames newt gingrich for the increased divisiveness in congress because representatives were encouraged by gingrich to leave dc and travel home to their districts more frequently

This led to less time spent together outside of work hours and fewer friendships across the aisle
