Pros
The leather is supple and well-tanned, and all stitching is perfectly executed. Nice material with a classy look.
This item looks great. Exactly as advertised. Not nordstrom but great for the price. Comes with the duplicate divider.
Cons
Very disappointed, they say they are leather - they are not leather" made from cheap vinyl, imitation leather. False advertising is not right and extremely frustrating.

In fact the open edge of this pocket is too high meaning that when you have stuffed your checks backing all the way into it not only can you not insert a pen no matter how small into the pen holder but the packet of checks is too tall for the checkbook to close symmetrically along its central seam

And as for inserting a check register on the opposite side well it cant be done there is no slot in which to slide the register although it might possibly be slipped into the upper pocket from the checkbook covers side meaning you will have to withdraw it separately from the cover

However when the pen is inserted in the middle the checkbook cannot close properly
