Pros

The sheer randomness of this book is it's biggest strength. This is possibly the most cosiest and wholesome book i have read in years. A completely warm hug of a book if there ever was one.

It's a charming novel with characters to adore and a world that feels warm and kind. It's a wholesome little slice of life, no big set battles,. No big bad to fight, it very rarely moves outside the cafe.

Viv is an orc barbarian, best known for questing, fighting and asking questions later. After decades spent adventuring, former orc warrior viv enters he city of thune with a witching rod in hand.

A d&d session that snowballed into a full story. Thanks to netgalley and tor for providing me with an earc. Proper cheered my weekend right up.

Calamity the hob, tandri the succubus and thimble the ratkin are the main characters. They help viv open a coffee shop.

Along the way she gets a couple of employees, a couple more good friends and more ideas about where to go with her cofee shop.

This book does make you want a cinamon bun like mad though and a good cup of joe.
