We debated this over an ho model train for our 5-year-old, and i'm really glad we went with the lego.
It came with the conductor, and two passengers.
The grandkids loved the arrival of this lego product!
Price
At the time i purchased it, the price was discounted, making it the least expensive motorized setavailable.
But when modern passenger sets are discontinued the price tends to skyrocket.
Shipping
It is so fast and seems to be very durable.
The customer service for shipping issues is great!
Packaging/appearance
Happily it wasn't something that meant we couldn't use the set in the meantime.

Very nice train set however for the price it is too expensive there are only 3 minifigures and very few train tracks
