I e-mailed lego and they got back to me the same day and sent out the replacement base straight away.
Fast delivery to the uk, item is a present so not used it yet, will update when been played with.
Packaging/appearance
I hate extra wasted packaging but they did a good job.
On the box it says that internet connection is needed, but the game works perfectly well without it too.
Competitiveness
It will end up costing you a lot in the long term with the level packs (like skylanders).

It will be expensive though if you wish to unleash the games full potential having to purchase other character packs its not a necessity but it does improve game play and variety

Yes this does mean we have to buy more toys and add ons but it does also have the option of hiring characters for a limited time to complete specific tasks these cost studs rather than real money

Except as others have said it needs a lot of downloading of patches before it can be played on the ps3 the lego part was built and we had to wait til the next day to play it as the game was still installing
