Great toy, some annoyances, buy it (as long as you realize its expensive to buy, maintain and expand! You can buy one after market for $150 roundabout. The only downside is that they used it to mess with their niece.

Cons
Over 50 pieces missing in total. Tried to get replacement parts off of lego. Many of the parts look very similar. Legos in the package instead. Instead of being components of the mindstrom robot, those i received are just random lego building blocks.
I'm being ignored by the seller. A complete scam. Got reimbursed, but what a loss of time and effort.

It was a great project with the granddaughter.
He can build many types of roborts with the parts and design and build his own.

It can drain the battery and the battery compartment is at the bottom which means you’re going have to tear apart the whole robot to get to it

The sensors make the kit really cool to work with but the education and home editions both come with a different set of sensors and buying additional sensors is expensive 3040
