Pros

On linux, every maker of software has to jump on board and change the way they do icons. Dpi scaling issues are to be expected with some programs but everything looks amazing when they have hidpi support.

The brightness has 3 settings, off-low-high. I have a small hotspot (about 30-40 pixels) on the monitor that i can see when the area is a solid color. Everything is crystal clear on the screen and viewing angles are very good.

Lacking a disk drive isn't a big deal since i don't use many programs from disk and it really helps to streamline the system. The ram, obviously, is superb and there is plenty of.

Speakers are loud enough to fill the room and can be heard quite well when there is ambient noise in the room. I suspect the subwoofer helps that a lot. It is capable of running the highest end games currently on the market. Couldn't have asked for a ... Read More

The charger is mammoth. The charger port is rectangle, and located right next to the ethernet port. Transfers are also very fast via the usb 3.

Cons

This is my first lenovo product, and if things do not get fixed under warranty, it will be my last. The amount of bloatware on a windows machine is ridiculous. Trackpad is the worst i've ever used - accurate clicking is nearly impossible.

The ultra hd display sounds great but they really messed up the color yellow on the display. It appears to be more of a dark mustard color with a noticeable green tint. When i googled images of the simpsons, they just look wrong.

Price

I went ahead and ordered it, and the price went up a few days later.

The screen on this computer is great, especially considering the price.

Shipping

The computer works fine and is fast.

Transfers are also very fast via the usb 3.

Packaging/appearance

The same clips play back smooth as butter on the y50.

The number on thing that caught me off gaurd was no touch screen.

There's some software that attempts to use the webcam to monitor where your finger goes on the screen to minic touch screen abilities.

I haven't used the included dvd player (haven't even removed the packaging!

Competitiveness

16gb of ram and a 256gb ssd are included as well.

All in all a great computer for the price.

I was looking at a high-end satellite on costco's website, but couldn't find anything comparable in store.

0 port, spdif connection, combination microphone/headphone jack, and a card reader.
